Associate Lawyer – Corporate

About the Opportunity

Our client’s Banking & Corporate team in Ottawa is well-known for its extensive expertise in regional, national, and international banking, finance, and corporate transactions across various industries. The team provides strategic, business-focused legal advice on complex banking, finance, and corporate matters, including project finance, acquisition finance, secured lending, mergers and acquisitions, private placements, and venture capital transactions. Responsibilities

• Advise clients on banking, project finance, and secured lending transactions
• Manage mergers and acquisitions (private or public)
• Oversee securities and corporate/debt finance, and general corporate/commercial matters

Qualifications

• An LL.B. or J.D. degree
• 3-6 years of related experience in private practice or an in-house legal environment
• Exceptional client service, interpersonal, and communication skills
• Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail
• Demonstrated business acumen and commercial understanding
• Confidence to take initiative and approach challenges proactively
• Strong personal and professional integrity, coupled with a hardworking and passionate approach
• Bilingualism is considered an asset but not required
