We are looking for a strategic marketing leader who can drive the expansion and growth of Loblaw Advance. Loblaw Advance offers a unique set of assets and capabilities for planning and delivering advertising that helps consumer brands more effectively reach customers who will love their products. We use transaction-based insights from our online and bricks and mortar stores to target audiences and measure campaign effectiveness. We activate across our owned channels as well as offsite media channels.

The Senior Manager, Marketing will translate product and business strategies into marketing and communication plans to help fuel awareness and growth of Loblaw Advance. They will drive strategy through to execution and serve as a key collaborator with product leads and account teams to successfully bring new media products to market and forge strong interest & adoption among clients. The Senior Manager, Marketing will direct and oversee the work of freelancers, contractors, and internal publicity & creative team stakeholders to seamlessly deliver marketing and publicity activities of Loblaw Advance. They will be integral in devising the go-to-market strategies and development of marketing materials for Loblaw Advance’s solutions.

What You’ll Do:

  • Brand Strategy & Annual Planning: Translates Loblaw Advance’s value proposition and business objectives into marketing strategies to drive the growth of our media business. Makes recommendations for how Loblaw Advance can grow their client base and drive deeper engagement of clientele by expanding the communication channels and customer relationship management tactics used at Loblaw Advance. Supports leadership in the development of annual marketing plans, managing the annual marketing budget and leading annual sales launches. Stay abreast of trends in the media landscape and identify opportunities for Loblaw Advance to take a leadership position in the retail media industry.
  • Product & Publicity Strategy: Translates product-level strategic objectives into marketing launch strategies and plans. Work with Marketing Managers to shape the go to market strategies for key product launches to maximize interest and adoption in market. Leverages customer, product & business insights to develop compelling external narratives to support our media-selling activities. Identifies and leads marketing and publicity initiatives for Loblaw Advance collaborating with broader marketing and publicity stakeholders to participate in industry activities and execute our own communications tactics to new and prospective clientele.
  • Campaign Planning & Execution: Oversees the execution of launches and marketing activities, supporting the annual sales launches and events; acting as a key contributor and supervisor of the production of sales support and marketing materials, including development of the sales narratives and insights. Acts as a key point of contact for creative services and other partners (e.g., Loblaw Agency, Loblaw Digital) for the development and approval of creative & copy. Oversees content and communications across Loblaw Advance’s marketing tools, customer engagement and demand generation channels.

What you’ll bring:

  • A strategic and self-driven marketing leader with the ability to work independently and manage through ambiguity. A self-starter who can motivate and organize cross-functional stakeholders towards common objectives and outputs.
  • 5-10 years of marketing and communications experience, preferably with product marketing and/or B2B marketing experience supporting sales teams.
  • Knowledge of advertising technology and/or media is a definite bonus. Experience with consumer package goods and/or retail sectors would be an asset.
  • Adept marketing storyteller - someone who can translate data & insights into compelling marketing narratives in support of selling activities. Impeccable attention to detail, particularly around copywriting and an eye for design.
  • Demonstrable ability to understand and communicate complex subject matter or solutions for a variety of audiences.
  • Highly skilled project manager with experience in a wide variety of marketing communications including slideware and brochureware (both sales-centric and more technical documentation), event management, B2B social communications, whitepapers and other editorial products, email newsletters, managing website content and layouts, etc.
  • High proficiency with Microsoft Office suite expected. Working knowledge of Coda, JIRA, Salesforce and other collaboration tools a plus.
