Alternative Investment Solutions: Private Wealth– Product & Business Development Analyst

The Analyst will support the Private Markets team focused on delivering products and solutions to the Advisors and Clients across Global Private Wealth firms & platforms (broker-dealers, private banks, wirehouses, independent advisors). This is a fast growing segment that is increasingly looking for unique and differentiated products, solutions and structures across various Private Markets strategies and asset classes. The Analyst will be required to support all aspects of product and business development, sales and advisor/investor support, business and process management, and special research projects as Manulife Investment Management (MIM) grows this critical distribution channel.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the product development cycle of new products & solutions for a variety of Private Markets asset classes to be distributed to retail and HNW Wealth and Investment platforms globally

  • Research and analysis of potential private market products and clients to assess feasibility and build business cases

  • Manage product development, business development, and sales trackers and project plans

  • Assist in the preparation of marketing materials

  • Assist in the preparation of management reporting materials

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics or Business Administration

  • 1-3 years’ experience in financial services/asset management related field

  • Analytical skills: market analysis, cost-benefit analysis and risk analysis will be performed in the process of rolling evaluating new products and markets

  • Written & oral communication skills: presentations will be prepared and presented to internal and external clients

  • Knowledge of investments and financial markets: The Business Analyst will be able to obtain first-hand knowledge of the private asset classes the group is focusing on; private credit, private equity real assets, private placements and multi asset solutions.

  • Interpersonal skills: In order to successfully perform their duties, the analyst will need to work with a variety of stakeholders at the firm ranging from front office, sales, finance, marketing, operations, systems, etc.

  • Planning and organization skills: The candidate will help facilitate the planning and implementation for rolling out new products.

  • Working knowledge of investment/financial markets

  • Familiarity with a variety of financial products and services

  • Demonstrated knowledge of accounting, financial or investment analysis techniques

  • Ability to be flexible, creative and show initiative while working in a challenging and fast paced environment

  • Strong written & oral communication skills

  • Solid computer experience using Excel, Word and PowerPoint, with a strong aptitude for learning new software packages

  • Familiarity with statistical analysis (quantitative & qualitative)

  • Helpful: enrollment in CFA and/or CAIA

What you will learn:

  • An understanding of the various private asset classes and how they are sold; how products are developed to meet the needs of retail, mass affluent and high-net-worth investors

  • An understanding of the Private Wealth management channel and the way retail/HNW investors allocate to Private Markets. Additionally, how products and solutions are diligenced and onboarded, marketed and supported, by Wealth Management firms, advisors, and individual investors.

  • Strategy development - understanding how existing and new products and solutions will affect various stakeholder groups in the organization, acting as a facilitator to resolve any issues

  • Influencing without title - working with various internal stakeholders who may need to change their existing processes in order to accommodate the new business

Salary range is expected to be between

$61,350.00 CAD - $102,250.00 CAD
