Description
Join our Group Functions Technology Team!
Collaborating with the Director of Information Risk Management within the business unit to provide project and delivery support. Maintain and track and update technical project processes
Responsibilities:
• Understanding of software development lifecycle.
• Responsible for seamless functioning of technology and applications for the benefit of internal and external users.
• Develops both knowledge base and technical profile for users.
• Responsible for managing and tracking internal projects across multiple partners; developing analysis to support process and project improvements.
• Researches and analyzes improvement opportunities, conducts analysis, recommends and facilitates efficiency enhancements.
• Investigates new platform solutions to enhance service delivery experience.
• Develops business requirement documents and specifications.
• Works as directed by management team to research and document business issues involving workflow procedures and processes.
• Analyzes data and work with management to develop creative solutions.
• Proactively identifies issues with workflows and processes; suggests improvements to management.
• Demonstrates understanding of how technology supports Manulife's strategy.
• Work with IRM teams to identify areas of program improvement and drive execution through special projects and general working sessions.
• Standardize/streamline processes and metrics.
Skills and Experience:
• Experience in one or more of the following areas : Information Technology/Systems, Project Management, Information Risk Management, Information Security, ideally with some of that time spent in a large, complex organization.
• University Degree or equivalent experience preferred.
• Financial Services industry experience preferred.
• Professional certification in Project Management is a plus, but not a requirement.
• Strong Personal Computing skills (MS Office) and experience with Planning tools and/or relational databases.
• Familiarity with collaboration tools including teleconference, instant messaging, email, and videoconference.
• Broad understanding of Project Delivery and Portfolio Management technologies and working experience with tools i.e. Atlassian - Confluence, JIRA, JSM etc.
• Good communication skills (oral and written) including ability to develop and deliver effective user education sessions and collaborate with all organizational levels.
• Achievement oriented with proven project management skills and the able to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple priorities.
• Good analytical skills, copes with complex situations through deliberate analysis and planning.
• Ability to support ad/hoc critical system issues within a high availability environment to help de-escalate incidents. Collaborate with Global teams and partners in different time zones, occasionally.

Primary Location
Working Arrangement
Salary range is expected to be between
$75,880.00 CAD - $140,920.00 CADIf you are applying for this role outside of the primary location, please contact recruitment@manulife.com for the salary range for your location. The actual salary will vary depending on local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training. Employees also have the opportunity to participate in incentive programs and earn incentive compensation tied to business and individual performance.
