Specialist, Sustainability Reporting and Disclosure

The Global Sustainability team is looking for a Specialist, Sustainability Reporting and Disclosure to play a key role in the development of Manulife’s sustainability reporting, including our annual Sustainability Report, Public Accountability Statement, and other ESG-related disclosures. In addition, the specialist will collaborate with stakeholders to help drive Manulife’s sustainability disclosure and performance. In this role, you will join a wonderful team of diverse sustainability and social impact professionals, working with colleagues across the company to drive progress against our sustainability strategy.

Responsibilities:

  • Play a critical role in the management, preparation, governance and delivery of our sustainability reporting and disclosures, including Manulife’s annual Sustainability Report.
  • Research and analyze evolving sustainability reporting standards and prepare recommendations for the team.
  • Monitor and assess evolving regulatory requirements and industry developments regarding sustainability reporting.
  • Support the content development and enhancement of ESG-related disclosures to meet increasing regulatory and reporting requirements (e.g., ISSB).
  • Prepare and support the Manulife’s responses to ESG raters and rankers including MSCI, S&P, CDP, Sustainalytics, Corporate Knights among others.
  • Perform ongoing disclosure analysis for sustainability reporting against priority reporting methodologies.
  • Support the team in enhancing reporting and governance practices to align with our evolving sustainability reporting strategy.
  • Collaborate and support internal stakeholders during reporting cycles.
  • Research and analysis requests as assigned.
  • Participate in technical training and development opportunities.

Requirements:

  • Post secondary education, ideally with a focus on sustainability, corporate responsibility or a related field.
  • Experience in corporate sustainability.
  • Knowledge and/or experience with the voluntary sustainability reporting frameworks (i.e. SASB, GRI) and regulatory frameworks (OSFI B15, ISSB).
  • Experience preparing disclosures and responses to rating agencies such as MSCI, DJSI and CDP considered an asset.
  • Excellent research, writing and synthesizing skills with the ability to communicate complex information succinctly.
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft suite of tools, especially Excel and PowerPoint
  • Strong people skills with ability to develop and maintain relationships internally and externally.
  • Excellent project management skills.
  • Experience working at a financial institution an asset.

Salary range is expected to be between

$61,350.00 CAD - $102,250.00 CAD
