Summary
The Group Underwriting Training Specialist is responsible for developing, implementing, and delivering training programs that enhance the technical underwriting skills of the Group Underwriting team. The trainer will ensure the team is equipped to follow best practices, maintain high-quality standards, and support other departments like Sales with relevant underwriting documentation. This role also focuses on quality review, identifying training gaps, and assisting in internal audits.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver comprehensive training programs on all aspects of underwriting functions (without size restrictions) to ensure consistency and accuracy across the team
- Provide training to Sales and other departments on underwriting processes and documentation, fostering cross-functional collaboration
- Ensure the maintenance and continuous improvement of underwriting processes and documentation to align with company policies and best practices
- Conduct quality reviews, identify training gaps, and implement corrective training to address areas for improvement.
- Support internal audits by ensuring that underwriting procedures comply with policies and regulations.
Main Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Actuarial, or related field
- 10+ years in Group Underwriting or related role
- CEBS or other Insurance-related certifications
- In-depth knowledge of group underwriting processes, strong communication and presentation skills, ability to identify training needs and design effective programs
- Occasional travel may be required for training sessions at other locations in Medavie provinces.
- Proficiency in English and French
