In this collaborative role, the Rehabilitation Manager is responsible for leading a qualified team through providing ongoing direction and support to ensure service standards and metrics are met. The team will be built up of Rehabilitation Consultants & Senior Rehabilitation Consultants.

Reporting to the Director, Group Life & Disability Services, the Rehabilitation Manager will work closely with their peers in our Atlantic, Quebec and Ontario office to assist in strategic planning and annual budgeting activities of the department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring delivery of quality Rehabilitation Services to our customers across the country.

  • Manage the human resource processes for the Rehabilitation team, including workforce planning and recruitment needs with adequate resourcing based on growth.

  • Monitor performance of the Rehabilitation team.

  • Provide direction and best practice and procedures by providing information, answering questions and requests.

  • Ensure monitoring of vendor quality and maintenance of preferred provider database

  • Create & establish new processes, process alignment & process efficiencies that support desired business outcomes.

  • Increase the rehabilitation attachment rate

  • Responsible to support the creation and maintenance of Medavie Blue Cross Rehabilitation Best Practices.

  • Maintain a formal coaching and mentoring program within the team using senior staff to help develop less experienced staff.

  • Provide formal rehabilitation training sessions for operational staff in all regions

  • Develop career path & succession planning.

  • Develop and maintain reporting on service and outcomes

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Degree in a relevant program and/or a combination of relevant work experience.

Work Experience:

  • 5 to 10 years of related experience in group insurance, specifically within Disability claims management

  • 5 to 10 years of leadership experience.

Knowledge & Skills:

  • High level of integrity and accountability while demonstrating flexibility and initiative.

  • Ability to build effective relationships, both with internal & external stakeholders.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with demonstrated function of effective organizational and prioritization capabilities.

  • Demonstrated ability to build team confidence, effectiveness, and performance during significant organizational and divisional change.

  • High technical aptitude and the ability to understand system and process linkage as it relates to process and service delivery.

  • Ability to understand the goals of the organization and translate them into plans for the Disability Services department through your innovative problem-solving skills.

  • Strong analytical skills and ability to resolve quality and client service concerns as well as identifying trends and recommending system improvements.

  • An effective communicator, mentor & coach with experience leading teams of varying skills & knowledge.
