SUMMARY:

This Intern position is responsible for supporting the Human Resources Retail Support Team, the main tasks include the processing of employee master data changes in a timely and accurate manner as assigned by the HR Supervisor and assisting with the maintenance of both electronic and hard copy files.  The Human Resources Intern may also be responsible for supporting the Retail Support group during vacation absences should the skill set and need apply.  The role would start with the auditing, entering, filing of new hires, rehires, miscellaneous and termination paperwork.  These tasks could expand should the volume require it.

 

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITES:

- Daily processing and filing of various employee master data changes, such as:  new hires, terminations, etc.

- Ensure master data changes are in compliance with the terms of the particular Collective Agreement and the Company’s internal audit procedures.

- Setup and maintenance of both electronic and hard copy files for store and pharmacy employees in accordance with government legislation, Company Policies and the respective Collective Agreement.

- Upon request, issue letters of employment to employees in support of third-party requests (i.e., mortgage applications, loan applications, immigration paperwork, etc.).  Confirmation of employment may later be required by these parties.

- Assist with departmental projects as required.

- Alphabetize and organize files and paperwork for filing, reviewing employment status in the HR system as required

- Maintain confidentiality of data and information

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

- University/College courses in Business Administration or Human Resources Management an asset

- Must have a good working knowledge of MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel)

- Must be able to prioritize and multi-task, as the incumbent will be exposed to a high volume of data entry with strict payroll deadlines with potential interruptions.

- Must be able to work independently

- SAP-HR an asset
