Your Impact:

As a Permitting Advisor, you will play a key role in ensuring regulatory compliance and environmental sustainability at Red Chris Mine. You’ll support the permitting strategy, engage with regulators and Indigenous communities, and help secure authorizations essential for mine operations, exploration, and closure.

As Part of Our Team, You Will:
  • Advise on and execute permitting strategies to meet regulatory and operational needs.
  • Prepare and support environmental permit applications, ensuring compliance with Canadian and BC regulations.
  • Collaborate with regulatory agencies, Indigenous groups, and internal teams to navigate the permitting process.
  • Provide technical guidance on environmental risks, compliance, and sustainability initiatives.
  • Track, manage, and update permitting documentation and regulatory requirements.
Prerequisites for Your Success in This Role:
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Management, or related field.
  • Experience: 5+ years in mining, extractives, or heavy industry with environmental permitting experience.
  • Skills: Strong analytical, project management, and stakeholder engagement abilities.
  • Knowledge: Familiarity with Canadian/BC environmental legislation, permitting processes, and sustainability practices.
  • Tech-Savvy: Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with ArcGIS and MonitorPro is a plus.
Your Work Environment:
  • The ideal candidate will be based out of BC, working partially from the Vancouver Regional office. Flexibility will be given where appropriate
  • The individual in this role will support the Red Chris Mine and will be required to visit site as needed
  • Work closely with internal teams, regulatory authorities, and Indigenous communities.
  • Fast-paced environment requiring adaptability, collaboration, and problem-solving.

The expected salary range for this role is CAD $ 83,400 - $111,180/yr with an additional 15% short term incentive. This range is tied to the British Columbia market for jobs performed in British Columbia. The salary offer to the successful candidate will be based on job-related education, training, and/or experience. The salary offer will not be based on a candidate’s pay history at other jobs, and by law, Newmont will not seek information about pay history, and candidates should not share such information with Newmont.
