What is the Opportunity?

As part of the Internal Audit, Financial Crimes & Anti-Money Laundering Center of Excellence (COE) team, the Audit Manager Financial crimes compliance-FCC Regulatory Issue Validation will provide independent and objective evaluation of the adequacy and effectiveness of the Financial Crimes & Anti-Money Laundering (FC & AML) practices for business lines within Canada, Europe/Asia Pacific, and the Caribbean.

The ideal candidate will support the Internal Audit, Financial Crimes International team by assisting in planning and execution of regulatory issue validation, including preparation of audit planning and testing materials, and executing design and operating effectiveness against milestones, and will be able to work in a dynamically changing environment and act as a trusted advisor to the business.

What will you do?

  • Assist with performing regulatory issue validations for Financial Crimes regulatory issues, covering Anti-Money Laundering (AML) or economic sanctions.
  • Support Sr Manager for FCC Regulatory Issue Validation and Head of Global FCC Regulatory Issue validation as well as regional audit heads during regulatory issue validation, including through testing of FCC controls and processes, participating in walk throughs with stakeholders, and facilitating communications internally and with audit stakeholders.
  • Participate in discussions with and respond to requests from relevant regulatory bodies, including Financial Transactions and Reports Analysis Centre of Canada (FINTRAC) and regional (Caribbean, Europe/UK, APAC) regulators.
  • Assist in performance of work outside of validation including assisting with Business As Usual (BAU) FCC audits where needed.
  • Work together with the Senior Manager and Director for Internal Audit, Financial Crimes & AML COE to shift the capabilities of team members towards a predictive insight driven organization.


What do you need to succeed?
Must-Have

  • Minimum 4-7 years of experience working in a financial institution, preferably in lending
  • Knowledge of general AML, sanctions and anti-bribery functions
  • Experience leading integrated business audits with technology auditors
  • Experience with APAC, Europe/UK, and/or Caribbean AML regulations is a plus


Nice-to-Have

  • MBA, accounting designation and/or CFA
  • ACAMS certification or studying towards ACAMS certification
  • Interest in pursuing a career in Risk Management
  • Industry knowledge and experience
