Our client is seeking a SR Business Analyst with design and mapping experience to support a utilities client

Anticipated Start Date - March 3, 2025

Initial Contract Term - 12 months

Potential for extension? - Yes

Location - Alberta-based, must be in office minimum 3-days/week

Responsibilities:

• Understand project technology needs and objectives and project value to work with SMEs and business users to identify, document, and prioritize requirements.
• Work with business to identify, understand and document the current state project structure and business processes for automation, improvement, and simplification.
• Compile documentation to capture business and technical requirements.
• Work with business and 3rd party experts to understand, assess and document the future state business processes and project needs.
• Understand and validate the proposed technical solution against business requirements.
• Define and document business use cases.
• Support business testing of projects solution (e.g. test scripts, user acceptance testing)

Must have:

• 8+ years as a Business Analyst
• Strong ability in process design and mapping with multiple toolsets (iGrafx preferred)
• Proficient in for BRD development (Business Requirements Document) and RTM (Requirements Traceability in JIRA)
• Strong negotiation skills in working with stakeholders with competing interests within the context of process design direction, business decisions, and change management
• Group facilitation and stakeholder engagement skills

Nice to have:

• Experience in a Utility/Infrastructure Construction Industry
• Experience in a regulated environment (i.e. Utility)
• Understanding of APQC’s PCF for process framework design
• Familiarity with BPMN
