Sr. Data Architect working with MDM on an automation project for our financial client

Business Overview

• The Architecture team is responsible for delivering technology solutions that support our divisional strategy. In addition, the team leads the development of our client's technology vision and strategy. This involves conducting research into a variety of technologies and business focus areas that includes data warehouse, data integration, master data, big data, cloud services, data governance and quality, security and operational efficiency.

How Your Work Impacts the Organization

• The Data Architect role assists with establishing and evolving the data standards, models and technical solutions. This will include active participation in key business and IS initiatives to ensure that solutions are architected and aligned with the Canada data strategy and technology directions. Data architects are senior visionaries who translate business requirements into technology requirements and define data standards and technology solutions
• The data architect is responsible for visualizing and designing an organization's enterprise data management framework. This framework describes the processes used to plan, specify, enable, create, acquire, maintain, use, archive, retrieve, control, and purge data. A data architect is a practitioner of data architecture, a data management discipline concerned with designing, creating, deploying and managing an organization's data architecture.
• Data architect defines how the data will be stored, consumed, integrated and managed by different data entities and IT systems, as well as any applications using or processing that data in some way. The data architect also "provides a standard common business vocabulary, expresses strategic requirements, outlines high-level integrated designs to meet those requirements, and aligns with enterprise strategy and related business architecture.

Must haves:

• 7+ years of experience as a Data Architect
• 2+ years of Master Data Management (MDM) experience with Informatica or other industry vendors like IBM
• Proven experience in database logical and physical design, BI and data visualization tools (i.e., Tableau, Oracle, SAP ), Advance Analytics, AI/ML, data source analysis, and overall data management
• Experience with Cloud is required (AWS or Azure)

Nice to haves:

• Data warehousing - Snowflake preferred
• Data Integration, Informatica iPaaS preferred
• Database design and experience, Microsoft SQL, Oracle, AWS Aurora, MYSQL, PostgreSQL and IBM DB2
• Salesforce Einstein
• Cloud certifications
• Experienced with industry leading open-source tools such as Apache Sqoop, KNIME, RapidMiner, Elasticsearch, Pig, Hive, Kafka etc. (couple of them).
