Position Overview

As the HR Manager, you will oversee and manage HR policies, programs, processes, and initiatives in alignment with the People & Culture Strategy, supporting the overall business strategy. This role spans various disciplines, including talent management, compensation, employee engagement, performance management, learning and development, and health and safety.

The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in human resources, employee relations, and culture-building strategies. The position requires strategic, innovative thinking, sound judgment, and strong communication skills, with the ability to influence others. A customer-focused mindset, commitment to continuous improvement, and a passion for the employee experience are essential. As well, the candidate must be committed to operating in alignment with the Foundation’s values.

 

This is an individual contributor role.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide thought leadership and collaborate with the Director of People & Culture to develop and implement strategies that align with the People & Culture and overall business strategy.
  • Manage all cyclical HR programs, including performance management, compensation, employee engagement surveys, and learning and development initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of HR programs and processes.
  • Serve as the primary HR contact for managers and address escalated employee matters.
  • Act as liaison and partner between the Foundation and Hospital HR departments.
  • Regularly review and update HR policies and practices to ensure compliance with relevant legislation.
  • Develop, analyze, and present HR-related data and metrics to management.
  • Oversee employee investigations and disciplinary matters.
  • Manage the workplace health and safety program and actively participate in the Joint Health & Safety Committee.
  • Support the planning and coordination of monthly All Staff Meetings and the annual All Staff Retreat.
  • Maintain the HR pages on the company intranet, ensuring that information is current and accurate.
  • Foster a workplace culture that values diversity, fairness, and consistent management practices.
  • Participate as an active member of the Equity, Diversity & Inclusion Committee.
  • Lead and support special projects, working groups, and organizational initiatives, representing the HR team.

 

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources or equivalent work experience. HR certification (CHRP) is considered an asset.
  • A minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in supporting HR policies, programs, and processes.
  • Strong ability to communicate and collaborate with senior leadership as a trusted and credible business partner.
  • Exceptional communication, relationship management, interpersonal, and influencing skills.
  • Strong organizational skills, resourcefulness, and the ability to manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision.
  • A commitment to excellence with meticulous attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
  • Highly motivated, with a positive and energetic attitude.
  • Strong critical thinking skills, with the ability to challenge the status quo and innovate solutions.
  • A strong customer service orientation.
  • Dedication to continuous personal and professional development.

 

The hiring range for this position is $98,000 to $110,000 per year, with potential advancement up to a maximum of $120,000 per year. Placement within this range will be determined by various factors, including experience, qualifications, and internal equity.
