AIDE-MÉCANICIEN(NE)

UFP Canada is one of the country's largest manufacturers and suppliers of industrial packaging, specialty lumber, building materials and mesh products. We are a growing essential company and are looking for a Mechanical Helper to support our experienced maintenance team by performing a variety of maintenance tasks to prevent breakdowns, extend the life of our equipment, minimize downtime and optimize the overall performance of our production.

Job Type: Day and evening or evening only rotation, permanent, full time

Daytime schedule: Monday to Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Evening schedule: Monday to Thursday from 6 p.m. to 4:30 a.m.

Salary : $22 - $28 / hour depending on experience

Evening bonus : $3/hour.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Carry out various preventive maintenance work such as inspections and maintenance of equipment as well as daily troubleshooting;
• Perform minor diagnostics and repairs on machines and small tools;
• Clean, lubricate or adjust parts, equipment or machinery;
• Carry out quality checks, adjustments and changes of blades;
• Measure the width of the processed wood on the various machines to ensure that the saws are properly mounted;
• Check sharpening accuracy, blade condition and classify saws;
• Send defective saws for sharpening and prepare their shipping note;
• Unlock equipment and perform set-ups.
• Perform sharpening of corrugated knives and chainsaw blades.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• No training or diploma required (in-house training);
• Spoken French;
• Spoken English (an asset).

• Ability to communicate effectively;
• Possess manual skills and a sense of initiative;
• Strong ability to work in a team and in a fast-paced environment.
