Duties and Responsibilities

Reporting to the Manager, Grounds Department, the Groundskeeper is responsible for the operation of a variety of minor machinery and related equipment used in the landscape and maintenance operation including: self-propelled snow blowers, etc., for snow and ice clearing operations; under supervision, the Groundkeeper shovels snow, performs general landscape work; keeps records; and performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Grade 10 education (grade 12 preferred), and related experience. Driver’s license may be required to drive a pick-up truck. Candidates must be able to repeatedly perform the range of physical functions required in this position, including during inclement weather.

Regular full-time staff of the University who are interested in applying to this opportunity as a secondment MUST have their current supervisor’s approval to potentially take up the secondment in advance of applying.
