Student Grounds Assistants - Snow Shovelers

Shift: Monday to Friday - 6:00am to 9:00am

The Snow Shoveler is responsible for manually clearing snow on assigned routes, spreading ice melter as needed, and performing other duties as assigned, including work preparatory to the active snow season.

Candidates must be reliable, and able to work effectively either individually or as a member of a team. Candidates must be able to both accept instruction and communicate well. The successful candidates must be physically able and willing to perform the entire range of tasks associated with this position on a sustained basis and in all kinds of weather.

The usual workday begins at 6:00 a.m., however, during significant snow events, shovelers may be called in as early as 2:30 a.m. Actual availability of work will be contingent on the weather.

First priority will be given to University of Guelph Students.

Hourly rate: $17.25
