Department mission

The mission of the Culture, Sports, Leisure and Community Development Department is to improve quality of life by promoting accessibility, participation, and integration of all citizens through the provision of excellent community, cultural, sports and recreational facilities, activities, and services.

Responsibilities and goals associated with the position

Reporting to the Supervisor – Day Centre, the jobholder is responsible for leading daily animation at the senior center. The incumbent may also be required to attend outings and work several special events throughout the year.

The jobholder’s main responsibilities are as follows:

        • Ensure the safety and wellbeing of participants during outings and activities for seniors;
        • Implement and animate activities planned by the Supervisor – Day Centre;
        • Help with the day to day set up and take down of activities;
        • Perform any other related tasks.

Working Hours Variable – Between 5 to 10 hours per week (day shift between 8:00 am and 4:30 pm)
