As a Project Controls Engineering Student, you will be a part of the Oil Sands Estimating team and will assist in the support of asset life cycle cost data management. You will have the opportunity to develop your knowledge of cost estimation, database, and benchmarking development. Reporting to the Manager of Estimating, you will be working with cost data of Downstream and Upstream Oil Sand Major Facilities.
- Term length: 8 months
- Term start: May 2025
- Job location: Calgary, Alberta - Head Office or Fort McMurray, Alberta at our Horizon Oil Sands site - flights and accommodations would be provided
- Shift schedule: 5 x 2 - 8 hours (Calgary) or 4 x 3 - 10 hours (Oil Sands)
- Safety sensitive position: Yes
Key Accountabilities:
- Data analysis and normalization
- Database development and organization
- Probability and statistical analysis
- Develop key metrics for use in conceptual estimating and benchmarking
- Labor productivity analysis
- Maintenance of estimating tools and templates
What You Bring to The Role:
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's Degree Program in Engineering or within one year of graduation (All disciplines will be considered)
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- Good knowledge of the basics of statistics and analytical skills
- Good understanding of cost data analysis
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
