New Grad Program

The two-year program offers a permanent position from Day 1, a combination of training and coaching, and the ability to rotate through several roles allowing New Grads to gain experience working on different projects and in different environments.

Program Eligibility

  • You have graduated with your bachelor's degree in 2023, 2024 or will graduate by May 2025

  • Or, you are currently completing a master's degree in a related field, you are graduating by May 2025, and have a maximum of 1 year between completing your bachelor's degree and enrolling in your master's program.

  • Good Academic Standing (A copy of your Official/Unofficial Transcript)

  • Valid, permanent driver's license (Ontario Class G)

Corporate Development

We are seeking 1 New Grad within our Corporate Development Team.

Responsible to the Director, Corporate Development, the Advisor is responsible for supporting the identification and acquisition of target companies in line with Hydro One's strategic plan and growth strategy. You will play a key role in assessing and execute business-enhancing corporate transactions.

Job Duties:

  • Creates as well as maintains presentations and other communication materials for Corporate Development and Growth updates to the Executive Leadership Team, Board and Committees

  • Performs and analyze industry news, developments, and industry trends to provide strategic investment proposals that support Hydro One corporate transactions

  • Monitors Corporate Development and Growth deliverables and summarizes them for senior management Monitors industry changes through ongoing contact with industry leaders

  • Builds relationships with internal and external teams to execute and support Corporate Development and Growth activities

  • Helps gather financial and non-financial data from internal sources for reporting purposes

  • Leading the effort to analyze and track acquisition targets, including company profiles

  • Analyzing and interpreting financial information including financial filings and other reports which can be used by management for strategic decisions

  • Assisting with the management of financial and regulatory due diligence processes in the evaluation of potential opportunities

  • Developing and maintaining complex financial models, business cases, sophisticated financial projections and using these financial analyses to make recommendations to management regarding decisions for material corporate initiatives and acquisition targets

  • Support Director, Corporate Development to further the departmental initiatives

What we look for:

  • Strong interest in Corporate Development, consulting, or accounting/finance.

  • Analytical and quantitative skill set including the ability to understand, develop and analyze complex financial and strategic models

  • Exceptional project management and Organizational skills, written and verbal communication skills, relationship-building skills, and the ability to collaborate with multifunctional teams.

  • Ability to apply advanced problem-solving skills and use of judgment based on analyzing and validating data from multiple sources.

  • Ability to demonstrate timeliness in developing deliverables that have impactful results.

  • Ability to provide advice to senior leaders of the organization and experience articulating difficult or sensitive information.

  • Must be able to decipher material non-public information versus publicly disclosed information.

Job Requirements:

  • Must meet New Grad Program Eligibility Requirements

  • An undergraduate degree in engineering, finance or commerce

  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office - Excel, Word, PowerPoint

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a track record of preparing effective PowerPoint presentations.

  • Previous Co-op/Internship experience in a relevant field and industry is considered an asset

  • Some travel might be required for this role.
