Impact Recruitment is partnering with a law firm in Ottawa to recruit a Corporate Law Clerk. This role requires the candidate to be onsite in their Ottawa office 4-5 days per week for the first 3 months.

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
The selected candidate for this role will collaborate closely with lawyers, clients, and legal administrative assistants as part of the law clerk team to provide high-quality legal services.
ABOUT THE POSITION
The main responsibilities of this role are as follows:
- Manage a high volume of requests related to daily corporate activities, including share issuances, transfer requests, and changes in directors, officers, and registered office.
- Maintain and update minute books, assisting with both pre-closing clean-up and post-closing updates.
- Establish and oversee Employee Stock Option Plans (ESOP), including handling grants and exercises.
- Handle continuances, amalgamations, and various amendments.
- Review minute books in relation to different financing transactions and mergers and acquisitions.
THE REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a law clerk in a corporate law setting.
- Proficient in working with, creating, and manipulating PDF documents.
- Strong team player with the ability to thrive in a multi-office environment.
- Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Solid practical knowledge of corporations incorporated in Ontario.
- Familiarity with the Canada Business Corporations Act.
COMPENSATION
$65,000 - $70,000 salary DOE.
Full medical & dental.
