Marketing Manager, Events and Enablement

We are seeking an experienced and energetic Marketing Manager, Events and Enablement to join our Group Benefits Marketing team. This role is pivotal in leading the marketing required to deliver on events in-person and virtually for our Group Benefits sponsors, advisors and Sales team, with a keen focus on event content. This team member will also support enablement activities across our Group Benefits sales team, including partnering with our Training and Product teams to deliver compelling new storytelling and training experiences, and supporting the associated content and marketing required to bring these experiences to life.

The ideal candidate is a self-starter, client-focused, creative problem solver with excellent writing and messaging development skills. You have a positive, can-do attitude, a sharp understanding of sales processes, and enjoy working with sales leaders. You understand the importance of ensuring our value proposition is consistent and evolving across all our sales channels. You are highly organized, with a passion for creating memorable experiences, and a true appreciation for the value that events and enablement can play in bringing our value proposition to life. You will work closely with various stakeholders to ensure events align with our brand values and business objectives, fostering strong relationships and delivering exceptional outcomes.

Key responsibilities:

  • Partner with our Events, Training, and other key teams to develop and execute an events strategy that supports the goals of our Group Benefits business and Sales team, including Manulife-hosted events, conferences, and educational sessions, as well as external industry events and sponsorships as appropriate.
  • Understand diverse needs and lead the development of training and education assets to enable the Sales team and help them showcase our value proposition through new product launches, presentations, etc.
  • Manage various aspects of events with a focus on content, presentations, and on-site executive/speaker support.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure event themes, content, imagery, and messaging aligns with overall marketing and business strategies.
  • Create or contribute to the creation of compelling event marketing materials, including invitations, presentations, surveys, mobile apps, post-event communications, and signage.
  • Work with subject matter experts, including senior leaders, to develop content and coordinate the review and approval process.
  • Coach internal and external presenters to help them understand the event, audience, objectives, and where necessary, support those speakers in developing their presentation skills.
  • Coordinate and lead project team meetings to ensure scheduling, operational, and production timelines and deliverables are met through event project lifecycles.
  • Monitor event performance and gather feedback for continuous improvement.
  • Provide post-event analysis, including detailed reports on event success and areas for improvement.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Event Management, Communications, Advertising/Promotions or a related field
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in event planning and management, preferably in a corporate or B2B environment, including a strong focus on content/messaging development
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to multitask and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Highly creative, out-of-the-box strategic thinker with a keen eye for detail.
  • Team player with exceptional organizational skills.
  • Flexibility to travel and work irregular hours as needed for event execution.

Salary range is expected to be between

$86,250.00 CAD - $155,250.00 CAD
