Equipment Operator

The Equipment Operator in this position will report to the Site Maintenance Supervisor. They are responsible for the safe and productive operation of various types of equipment including Excavators, Low bed Highway Truck, Hydrovacs and Loaders, in completing diverse maintenance projects across the site.

The Red Chris Mine Maintenance team is recruiting for an Equipment Operator with a competitive hourly rate of $55.14. We are seeking an individual for a Fly-In/Fly-Out opportunity working on a two-weeks-in, two-weeks-out rotating schedule.

Job duties include but are not limited to:

• Strong commitment and adherence to all Safety Policies and Procedures.
• Operating equipment, included but not limited to loader, excavator, gravel truck, hydro-vac, water/sewer trucks.
• General labour duties - you will be required to get in and out of the equipment regularly to assist the crew on the ground.
• Ability to work at heights.
• Ability to work in confined spaces.
• Work closely with all department’s equipment and facilities as necessary.
• Using Excavators or Loaders for Fusing loading and unloading operations
• Snow clearing duties as needed
• Assist Pipefitters as required.
• Proficient computer skills

Job requirements include:

• Valid Class 1 driver’s license is required
• A Heavy Equipment Operator Certificate and experience in Mining Operation would be an asset.
• At least 5 years of experience operating Loaders, Low bed tractor trailers and Excavators, with strong finishing skills.
• Crane Operations Experience and ticket considered an asset.
• Previous Hydrovac experience is an asset
• Prior experience working with HDPE piping
• Must have experience to comfortably operate equipment around people on the ground.
• Must be able to work with minimal supervision once familiar with requirements.
