Senior Program Manager to lead various projects across the department with in the public sector.

Our Valued public sector client is seeking a Senior Program Manager to lead various programs across the department.

Responsibilities:

• Work with project managers to ensure that the deliverables achieve a business result that enables value creation, setting up appropriate governance and oversight of all projects Develop an integrated baseline project plan, apply estimation models, document estimating assumptions, refine plans and manage performance against them
• Work with Program Managers and Resource Managers to determine project milestones and hold Project Managers accountable to delivery commitments
• Determine quality standards and oversee the execution/production of project and program management documents
• Anticipate and quantify tactical, operational and strategic risks applying risk-based approach to forecasting, mentors project managers/teams in determining risk based provisions
• Raises and tracks issues and conflicts, removes barriers, resolves project issues and escalates to immediate manager when required
• Facilitates schedule and cost forecasting Manage portfolio communications including status reports to executives, stakeholders, business units, vendors, project team, etc.
• Provide management with timely updates on portfolio milestones, issues and risks

Must haves:

• Experience as a Program Manager managing the delivery of 5 or more projects congruently
• Minimum of ten (10) years’ experience in the set up and oversight of Project Management Offices for large, complex IT Programs, including a minimum of five (5) years overseeing complex IT Programs for Government of Canada federal departments, agencies or crown corporations
• Minimum of five (5) years of experience directly liaising with external service providers. The name of the provider and level of interaction must be substantiated
• Secret clearance
