Senior SAP Functional Consultant to support a finance modernization project for a large banking client - 86072

What project will this contractor be working on? Production support & Finance Modernization

Target Start Date: Immediate

Duration:12 months

Remote/Hybrid: Hybrid - 2 to 3 days in the office

Office Location: Downtown Toronto (Financial District)

Work Schedule (hours per week, start time): 37.5 Hours/week, 9-5 Monday to Friday


KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Analyze defects and recommend solutions/actions and/or alternatives.
  • Understand business requirements
  • Propose and work on technical solutions with Technology partners
  • Analyze the pros/cons of a solution to propose a recommendation
  • Leverage SAP functional design capabilities to recommend and/or document functional specifications to meet business needs
  • Vendor management (software and service providers)
  • Act as main liaison between Business and Technology
  • Act as subject matter advisor for the supported business processes in collaboration with business process owners.
  • Effective communication with stakeholders to manage expectations and negotiate
  • Analyze changes, impacts and recommend actions and/or alternatives.
  • Analyze risks/issues and recommend mitigation/actions.
  • This position may have responsibility for supporting multiple concurrent projects.


Must Have Requirement:

  • 8+years in project environments or equivalent work experience; including SAP experience in the banking industry
  • Experience in systems development life cycle and system testing life cycle
  • Knowledge of end to end system designer (process and technology), with knowledge of cloud-based applications
  • SAP related knowledge (functional)
  • Production support role with error handling experience is a must
  • Functional understanding of upstream & downstream Non-SAP system integration
  • Clear understanding of Enterprise data structure (organization structure) in S/4 HANA finance with standard & custom chart of account code blocks.
  • Experience with leveraging SAP’s controls, security roles and data quality framework
  • Experience in the following modules/areas is an asset:
  • SAP MDG configuration, Master data modelling, Process modelling, & Work Flow configuration to support leading ledger and multi-GAAP
  • GL accounting Configuration & Accounting Process (S4 Hana GL & AR) including Average daily balance (ADB), multi-ledger & multi-currency accounting


Nice to Have:

  • SAP close and financial consolidation and elimination process in S4 and group reporting
  • FPSL (Financial Products Subledger) - Multi-GAAP banking product subledger accounting process
  • Reporting using Fiori, SAC & CDS view (S4, Group reporting, Expense ledger, etc.)
  • Expense Ledger (Accounts Payables, Fixed Asset Management, Project Systems / Project accounting)
  • Controlling Area (Internal orders)
  • PAPM (Profitability and Performance Management)
  • Banking experience is helpful
