Intermediate Secret cleared DBA to support the monitoring and functionality of databases during the development of new applications for a federal governmen

Our valued Public Sector clients are in need of an intermediate Secret cleared DBA to support the monitoring and functionality of databases during the development of new applications.

Responsibilities:

• Plan, install, configure, and deploy database software for various environments.
• Design, create and administer instances for performance, scalability, flexibility and reliability.
• Define and generate new database structures.
• Implement database backup, recovery and restoration strategies and procedures when required to safeguard the database.
• Use performance tools to perform database performance tuning activities, including database optimization, and query optimization for a production system environment.
• Analyze, solve problems and troubleshoot database issues such as performance degradation, data corruption, and invalid configuration parameters.
• Validate problem-solving approaches proposed by technical team members.
• Assist with supporting daily high-ticket volume as required.
• Develop and implement procedures that will ensure the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of data stored in the database.
• Develop and implement security procedures for the database, including access and user account management.
• Support the development of SQL Server when required
• Develop and coordinate back-up and disaster recovery procedures.
• Identify system improvements to existing databases using client requirements.

Must have:

• Government of Canada Secret (Level 2) clearance or above
• Experience managing and optimizing SQL Server Analysis Services systems, (SSAS)
