The Opportunity
Join our team as an IT Business Analyst and play a pivotal role in driving technical and business projects across diverse partners in the Legal, Compliance, and Government Relations portfolio. You will be responsible for supporting a variety of on-premises and SaaS applications, finding opportunities for process improvement, and developing solutions that enhance operational efficiency.
As a key contributor, you will work closely with management to research and address business issues, develop business and technical requirements, and coordinate ongoing service and maintenance post-implementation. Responsibilities:
- Responsible for application support and driving technical and business projects across multiple partners; developing analysis to support process and project improvements within the Legal, Compliance and Government Relations (LCG) portfolio
- Performs application support daily for numerous LCG applications which consist of on-prem and vendor SaaS applications
- Researches and analyzes improvement opportunities, conducts analysis, prepares recommendations and facilitates efficiency enhancements
- Develops business and technical requirement documents and specifications
- Works as directed by management team to research and document business issues involving workflow procedures and processes
- Analyzes data and work with management to develop creative solutions
- Proactively identifies issues with workflows and processes; suggests improvements to management
- Reviews suggested workplans
- Coordinates ongoing service, maintenance post-implementation
- Has positive impact to specific organizational entities & has some understanding of the nature of the impact
- Usually a top contributor to team's success

What we are looking for
- Minimum 3-5 years working experience with application development or supporting applications at a technical level
- Experience with relational database structures and methodologies with SQL.
- Development and Database: MS SQL, Visual Studio, .NET or similar, JavaScript
- Platforms and Tools: Azure or other cloud-based platforms, Jira, and incident/change management tools like ServiceNow
- Knows how to use Visual Studio to open code, debug code and develop new code
- Code repository management (Gitlab, Github or similar).
- Familiar with Agile development and methodologies
- Applicable undergraduate degree or equivalent work experience
- Client oriented, dedicated to customer service, takes initiative, creative problem solver
- A proactive approach to spotting problems, areas for improvement, and performance bottlenecks
- Working experience with the change management, problem management, and incident management process
- Superb communication skills: We communicate A LOT so being able to be clear and concise with both written and oral communications with a measure of tact is a must. Converting tech-speak to plain language is a definite bonus

Primary Location
Working Arrangement
Salary range is expected to be between
$75,880.00 CAD - $140,920.00 CADIf you are applying for this role outside of the primary location, please contact recruitment@manulife.com for the salary range for your location. The actual salary will vary depending on local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training. Employees also have the opportunity to participate in incentive programs and earn incentive compensation tied to business and individual performance.
